As a photography studio owner, I spend a lot of time on my tucchus at the computer. I spend even more time sitting improperly on my tucchus. I feel the pain as I hunch over, I’m not so great at reminding myself to stand up and stretch every so often, and over the years my posture has suffered from it.

Enter SLEEKFORM. I was so excited to see this product grace my Instagram feed, and soon after, I had a coffee meeting with Austin-based founder Elizabeth Mercer to discuss how these ergonomically designed kneeing chairs might help my posture predicament. Within a week, I was equipped with 2 of Sleekform’s kneeling chairs (aptly named “the Austin”), and 2 of their oh-so-cute and compact folding Portland tables for my studio to try out.

As with all of my product recommendations, I only promote products that I have used, tested, and love. So while Sleekform was boss enough to set me up with a couple of chairs and tables, I let them know that I wouldn’t be sharing my recommendation until I had the opportunity to test out the products for several weeks, and that if it was a product I could not stand behind, I would happily return everything back to them. Spoiler alert: I kept and love the products.

The chairs do require some step-by-step provided assembly. I’ll admit, I’m a horrendous furniture assembler, so I brought my husband in to do the job right. My first couple of legs of computer work on the new chair were a learning curve— I wanted to find which position worked best for me, and I did. It’s fun to sit in, and after just a week of use, I actually noticed myself sitting up taller and self-correcting my posture, even when I wasn’t in the Sleekform chair! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

I’ve converted several of my photographer peers to these kneelers. I love that they are minimalist in design and aren’t an eyesore in my creative space. The table is especially practical and versatile. Since receiving it, I’ve used it as a writing table, portable computer desk, a dessert table for a Christmas party I was throwing, and a table for my son to put his puzzle together on.
